The Greater Melbourne Soccer Association (GMSA) is proud to announce the official launch of its 2026 soccer season, to be held on Wednesday, 4 March 2026, at 7:15pm.


This year’s event will take place at Play Zone, 11 Ellis Street, South Yarra, and marks a significant moment in the Association’s history.


The 2026 season launch also serves as the first official event under the organisation’s new name, following its transition from the Bayside Football Association to the Greater Melbourne Soccer Association. This change reflects the Association’s growth, expanded regional footprint, and strengthened commitment to representing a broader community of clubs and participants across Greater Melbourne.


While embracing a new chapter, the GMSA remains deeply connected to its heritage. The season launch will include a moment of recognition for the Association’s long-standing history, acknowledging the contributions of players, volunteers, clubs, and officials who shaped the Bayside Football Association over many years.


This celebration of the past will be paired with a forward-looking focus on new opportunities, enhanced programs, and an exciting year of community football ahead.


During the event, attendees will hear from Association leaders as they outline strategic priorities for 2026, including competition updates, development pathways, community initiatives, and upcoming projects designed to grow the sport and strengthen participation across all levels.


As anticipation builds for a dynamic and competitive season, the GMSA looks forward to welcoming players, coaches, club representatives, partners, and supporters to the 2026 Season Launch and to a year that honours tradition while embracing progress.
